Archive Your Past Course Guides

If you used a Fall 2008 course guide, please follow the below steps to archive it.

1. Create a new guide titled subject Subject Course Guide Archive.
2. Give your Subject Course Guide Archive a friendly URL of /subjectarchive (eg. /educationarchive or /ewparchive).
3. On the new guide, create a new top-level page. Title it with the semester you are about to archive, such as Fall 2008.
4. Copy the course-specific pages as sub-level pages under this tab.
5. Add a "Course Guide Archive" link as a sub-level page under the Courses Tab with a URL that goes directly to the course guide archive friendly URL.

Archiving your course guides will keep it available to faculty, students, and the public when directly linked to. You can remove them from your main guide once moved over to the archive and they won't appear separately in the LibGuides navigation. Course guide archives will be published as "private" so they're available to anyone who is given a link to them. This will help us keep our public face clean and uncluttered, but will allow you to archive, reuse, and consult past guides as you work with instructors on your upcoming guides. It will also give you a page to link to if you've chosen to include a "Request a Course Guide" box anywhere on your guide or other documentation for faculty.
